they're not difficult, but long. the test lasts several hours. they're multiple choice questions, some of them has to do with basic math, some require you to figure out numerical sequences, some has to do addresses. Just make sure you read the questions carefully. when they send you the letter letting you know that you've been picked, they will send you a sample test. you should use that as practice. the test is similar to the practice guide, except there's a lot more questions. good luck.

I'm a current postal employee and the test that I took 13 years ago is nothing like the test now. When you apply for the job they will send you out sample questions. Study them. I haven't looked at the local bookstore lately for postal exam study guides, but if they have them and they are current -- which they should be -- then it is worth it to pick up the book. The book will generally give you sample tests and also pointers on what to look for on the test and how to prepare for it.
Good luck.

They are made up of basic math and not that difficult. There are some memory questions as well. I'm a retired postal carrier and I got a 98 on my exam.

Get one of the study guides from the library and practice, practice, practice!!! Speed is a huge factor.
