I'm rewriting my resume, and I'm just trying to put together a background history of myself to better help me in the resume writing process. I don't intend on listing all of them in the resume, but I do want to remember all of them so I can remember some transferrable skills that might come from one of my past jobs.

If you haven't kept track of that information, by keeping check stubs or time sheets and business cards, and you've moved around quite a bit, you can request a list from the social security administration. There's a fee involved, abourt $35, I think, but it may be worth your while if you intend on a serious job hunt. The list won't give contacts, but it will give you dates from and to and company names. You can call the companies to find out whom the best contact would be.

Don't put all the short-term inconsequential and irrelevant jobs that you've held on your resume. Just put the ones that are relevant to the job for which you are applying. If asked to fill out paperwork for a background check, however, you will need every job you've held as well as informaiton on what you did in any periods of unemployment, so you still will want to gather that information and have it available at any interviews, where they may ask you to explain gaps. The resume is just to pique their interest, not bore them with every detail of your working life.

Hiding something on a resume' will get you passed over for consideration. If they find out you worked somewhere and you don't tell them, your application just got tossed. And no, there is no such website.
