check out a local hotel/resort, they are in constant demand for summer labor. no doubt they will try to push you into house keeping or kitchen help, explain what your looking for to their HUMAN RESOURCE person. hold out for that type of job if you want.

in my teen years i did dishes at a local college, i brought home over $300 a week 15 yrs ago as a student in h.s.. you also might want to consider being a waiter for the summer. age won't matter in these jobs and they are uni-sex. both will bring you home a pretty penny at the end of the week for your age. happy hunting....

Your school shouldn't be doing anything to help you find a job until you are 16, but they probably won't help you then either. It is not likely that you will find the type of job you are looking for. Most summer jobs are season and usually involve some manual labor. You can probably get a cleaning job at the local theater, grounds keeping, or waitress job, however, by August 5th, I would expect that most of these jobs will be taken. You may have to stick with babysitting until next summer.

Since I don't know where you are (Canada or UK?), I will generalize. Some cities have youth employment centres, there are youth employment web sites, you can talk to all your friends who work to see if there are job openings, ask family members...

Teachers, especially in the business programs, often hear of job openings. You could try asking them. Your guidance counsellor may not be able to provide you with job assistance, but he/she should be guiding you in the right direction. If you are looking for theatre work, go directly to the local theatres and ask them what's available and fill out an application.

what i did was go on teenjobs.com or just search summer jobs, but i thinkyou need a work permit to actually get a job
